The Strangers

The StrangersA lean, briskly paced and exceptionally creepy thriller, The Strangers earns its scares the old-fashioned way: through atmosphere, sound design, and a simple yet undeniably upsetting central premise that allows for maximum tension throughout its running time. Attractive young lovers Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman are already having a bad day--she's turned down his marriage proposal--before a knock on the door in the middle of the night announces a full-fledged siege on their remote vacation home by a trio of masked assailants. The film's first third delivers the most consistent shivers as the visitors make their presence and intentions known to Tyler; the second half grows more frantic and bloody before a gruesome finale that may leave viewers either rattled to their core or bothered by its empty nihilism. Speedman is fine as the downtrodden male lead (who's seen tucking into a carton of ice cream after being rejected), but it's Tyler who impresses the most by shouldering the lion's share of the terror. First-time writer/director Bryan Bertino impresses by forsaking the current passion for over-the-top violence (save for the finale) in favor of more traditional means of generating fear, and if his project borrows heavily from other films, most notably the French chiller Them (which shares its "inspired by a true story" origin) and Michael Haneke's Funny Games, at least he's taking from the best. The sound design is among the many technical standouts, and the unsettling score by tomandandy (The Hills Have Eyes) pleasantly evokes Ennio Morricone's fuzztone-heavy work for Dario Argento in the early '70s. On a completely unrelated note, LP fanatics should appreciate how both the film's heroes and villains share an affinity for folk and country music on vinyl. --Paul Gaita

The truth about personal self defense weapons

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while, but these days it seems there is more to del list, i.e. the time to do them. In fact my daily trips are that inspired me to sit down and write this email today.

It seems that everywhere I go these days, I get asked the same questions on the issue of self-defence. Are they legal? Should I have one? They really work?(And assuming they are actually working for self-defense) ...How do I know which one is actually going to work for me?

However, there really is no single answer to this question is a personal matter that has a personal response to each. Why would I do that I may help clear some of the fog on the topic, and we'll start with a simple definition of the term "shockers".

Self: Act protect an individual from harm, or for the use of physical force or argument.

Weapons: any instrument or device used to cause harm to others, for attack or defence.

Therefore, for the implementation of this article, we will consider any instrument or device used to protect yourself from injury or assault weapons self ...Quite simply.

Personal Defense weapons come in many shapes and sizes. In fact, just about anything you have to defend itself may be considered as a weapon of self-defence.Therefore, instead of creating a list of weapons (which almost endless), I just go for some concepts that are common to all these devices.

First let's talk about how shockers not ...

Shockers not an animation based on their own. In other words, he did not think for themselves, and not sit there wound, waiting to attack someone. shockers is a tool, nothing more and be a tool, it makes depends entirely on what you do with it.Weapons can be very useful to you. But do you remember a few things ...

1. WEAPON SELF-DEFENSE IS NOT MAGIC.

If you have guns, then this does not mean you automatically safe so don't go walking in the wrong section of the city, in the middle of the night, carrying a handful of big money. Or Flip off the leader of the gang, just because you have a gun in your Pocket

2. you need to LEARN TO USE YOUR WEAPONS SELF DEFENSE.

And more importantly, you need to have confidence in your ability to use it only with weapons doesn't mean this is any help at all this really big problems among the uninformed; Military and law enforcement studies confirm that people who lack confidence in the equipment or devices shall not resort to stressful situations.

Many people have been seriously hurt in violent clashes with the personal self defense weapons right at hand. The stress of the moment, they do not think to use it or doubted his ' ability to influence the situation.Maybe they were afraid that it will only get worse.

So if you think about personal defence weapon, make sure you are ready to learn how to use it and become competent practice. You should also be prepared to use aggressive on predator protect yourselves. never carry personal safety-with the intent to "bluff" your assailant. This is a sure way to have your weapons seized and used against you.So if you're not willing to use it, don't wear it!

3. WEAPONS DO NOT WORK IF YOU DON'T CARRY THEM OUT.

Do you keep your eyes open and attention and you need to know how to wear and use the weapon of choice, cause if you don't, you can't get a chance to exploit gun won't help if it is still in its holster and pepper spray and stun gun not too useful if it is at the bottom of your purse or in your kitchen at home when you get attacked. Therefore, when you carry a gun for self-defense, make sure you can get to it quickly if necessary.

People rarely leave their homes, thinking, "Gee, I think I'll go out and fend off a robber or rapist now for most self-Novelty wears and they happen quickly forgotten, they find their way to the bottom of your purse, car glove box or in the back of the drawer in the kitchen. They won't do you much good there! ask yourself this way, you are looking at something pretty practical, be with you all the time.

4. NOTHING WORKS 100% OF THE TIME.

Over Inflated claims and promises to do fast everywhere self-defense. many sellers gadget and wannabe self-defense experts exaggerate the benefits and capabilities of their systems and products.

You need to understand and recognize the limitations of weapons and have a backup plan: Please note that nothing will ever 100% effective at all times even a gun is effective only on 99% sometimes people get shot, but they still don't go yet I don't know who'd say guns is not effective.

So, knowing that nothing works 100% of the time means no matter what-self, you decide, you still must have a backup plan for protecting yourself ...just in case

5. LEGISLATION ON ARMS ...

Many laws. starting first with the gun, the gun carrying weapons, etc. but there are also laws, stun guns, pepper spray, knives, sticks, etc. mainly has to do with the weapons might be used and under what circumstances.

To do that you can learn about weapons laws in your area, but more importantly, use a little common sense. Pulling a gun at the guy because he cut off you traffic is a no-no, and shoot someone in the face with pepper spray, because they took the last answer session does not use good judgment, when learning to use your weapon of self-defence, know the laws regarding weapons and when you can and can't use it legally.

So there you have it, some basic truths about weapon of self-defence.
I could go on for another half an hour of personal defense weapons and never run out of things to say, but this article is over a thousand words, so I'll end it here in the bottom line is, if you are going to carry a gun for self-defense, make sure you know how to use it and are ready to use, if required.

Until next time, stay safe and stay alive.

What to know when learning self defense

Look for more information about the self? You have come to the right place. Self defense is the best way to prepare yourself to fend off the attacker. No matter where you live and how safe is your neighborhood a good self defense class is always a great idea for you and your whole family. In this article we will talk about how the self is, different types of legitimate self-defense class and can help you.

As said before, prepare yourself for an attacker through better self. Self is a countermeasure that prepares one to protect themselves or their property from physical harm. In self-defence is legally justified, if the defendant has rightly consider themselves in dangerous situations. To use the self-defence justification in court, one must show that they were able, against another person, which could potentially have resulted in serious injury or death. Learning, self defense, usually consists of three components: training methods, techniques and strategies. Methods focus on avoiding self education movement, blocks and counter attacks. methods of learning are exercises that are used to study the techniques and strategies show people when to use them.

There are many styles of martial arts taught self-defence. They usually teach unarmed self-defense where you learn to defend themselves without any weapons. They teach you a variety of motor skills and ways of increasing confidence and awareness. Some countries, where it is legal to carry weapons, methods of armed self-defense. -Armed self-defense is the use of pepper spray, stun guns, and everyday objects such as baseball bats. In considering the defence of self-defence, keep in mind that it is not allowed in many countries, and may result in severe penalties. Other, less physical form self-defence called de-escalation. It teaches individuals to use their words in order to prevent or halt attacks, de-escalation.More conflict management style and uses voice tone, body language, to prevent this situation from escalating from bad to worse. avoidance is also considered a form of self-defence. Avoid allows you to become more aware of your surroundings and deny themselves in dangerous situations.

Although there are numerous articles on the Internet and video on self-defence, the best way to learn self-defense techniques through actual self-defense Self-defense classes typically classes. focus on unarmed self-defence, but can also teach people, prevention and management of conflicts.A good self defense class will teach you how to become more aware of your surroundings and how to handle the situation, you must create a dangerous position. At the top of the actual self Defense moves, most people also take an increased level of confidence that were missing before.

Women's defence-5 easy & effective self defense moves every woman should know

Translate Request has too much data Parameter name: request Translate Request has too much data Parameter name: request

On my journey to find the best self defense system I uncovered what I intuitively already thought was true. This truth is that the most simplest move or technique is usually the best and most effective. You can search high and low and learn the most intricate and deadliest martial art out there. But what good is it going to do you if cannot perform it under stress or if it takes ten years to become proficient at it?

The largest barrier to self defense is your mental state. Everyone reacts differently but most people will initially freeze up when faced with a life threatening situation. The only way to work past this mental state is through realistic practice with a partner and by knowing the most vulnerable areas to attack on another human being.

I absolutely do not recommend practicing the following self defense moves full force or full speed on your partner. Instead you want to practice them slowly and deliberately so that you will have them hard wired into your brain and your muscle memory will take over when the pressure is really on!

The following targets and descriptions of the basic self defense moves are violent and graphic. I have watered down my language describing them so as not to offend some people. Obviously great care should be taken not to injure your training partners. When training with a partner you should stop before the point of injury and visualize continuing all the way through the target.

The best way to practice them is to have your partner put you in a situation and your job is to go slowly and identify a vulnerable area and practice accessing that target from whatever situation you may find yourself in.

The following moves and targets are given in no particular order.

Self Defense Move #1 - The Eye Gouge

This one is pretty straight forward however it warrants some discussion.

Us "normal" people have a natural aversion to harming another human being. Attacking someone's eyes is absolutely no exception. Morgues are full of people who left scratch marks all over their attackers face but for some reason they never had the nerve to stick their finger or preferably their thumb directly into the eye socket of their attacker.

I am not talking about scratching at the eyes here either. I am talking about sinking your thumb all the way in up to your knuckle at the inside corner of the eye, rupturing the eyeball and then dragging your thumb knuckle deep all the way across and to the opposite corner of the eye.

This will definitely cause a reaction from your assailant that will buy you time to escape to safety. The police should have no problem identifying your attacker at the local hospital emergency room either!

What if they have glasses on? Simple you slide your thumb from the cheek bone up and under the glasses. I could elaborate on proper technique but that would make for a much longer article.

Self Defense Move #2 - The Ear Slap

A good and properly performed slap on the ears will at worst disorient your attacker and at best rupture their ear drums sending them crumpling to the ground in pain. Let's say for example that someone has grabbed you in a bear hug from the front underneath your arms and is carrying you off to their trademarked creepo van.

You know where his arms are! He has left himself wide open and defenseless!

For some reason or another you have decided not to gouge the eyes. Maybe you are saving the eye gouge as your last option if the ear slap does not work. Anyways the critical component of this technique is to cup your hands just like you would if you were clapping loudly at a sporting event. No opera claps here! With both hands cupped you "clap" or "slap" both ears at the same time. If you only have access to hitting just one ear that will do just fine too!

The important thing is that it should be a good hard clap with a cupped hand. This point is critical. Your fingers should also be pressed tightly together. The cupped hand creates a vacuum which ruptures the ear drum of your attacker.

Take care with your training partner here! Do not actually clap over your training partner's ears. This can cause permanent damage and a lifetime of pain for your partner! For practice just go slowly and keep your fingers spread open to avoid an accidental injury. In real life keep your fingers tight together and hand cupped.

Also in real life you are aiming to have the center of your palm seal your attackers ear canal.

One word of warning! How you practice usually dictates how you will actually strike when the real pressure is on. So you may want to improvise and practice an ear slap on an empty Javex bottle or something like a watermelon that your training partner is holding up. If you get to know the feeling of performing this technique properly you will be able to tell the police to look for the guy with a ruptured ear drum at the hospital emergency room. Injuries make it so much easier to identify your attacker!

Self Defense Move #3 - The Ball Buster

Nothing new here! If you can reach the testicles with your knee, foot or hand you have found one heck of a sensitive area!

The real issue here is launching your attack without setting off any radar. Guys are conditioned from a very young age to instinctively respond to any incoming threats to this vulnerable area. An attacker can usually respond in time to avoid most kicks because they see it coming and subconciously respond or flinch! Ideally you want to get close and use your knee because it flies under the peripheral view.

The goal is to kick or knee the testicles and follow through. In a self defense situation you are aiming to try and kick or knee them up through the groin area and try to follow through all the way up to their neck!

What if someone has grabbed you from behind in a bear hug over your arms? Stomp on their foot and get an handful of their family jewels and squeeze as hard as you can for as long as you can till the guy either drops to the ground or lets go. You want to squeeze until you feel something burst. Then you run to safety.

Self Defense Move #4 - The Throat

This self defense move can be lethal so do not mess around and take it easy on your training partner.

A strong forearm strike to the windpipe can cause enough damage to collapse the wind pipe and your attacker will suffocate. Surfaces that you can attack this area with are endless it can be a punch, edge of hand blow, forearm strike, elbow, hammer fist or even the webbing of you hand that is made when you make an "L" shape with your pointer finger and your thumb.

You can even place a cell phone inside your fist so that the bottom of the phone is just slightly protruding out the bottom of your fist and then you hammer fist the throat. The unforgiving structure of the cell phone is sure to cause serious damage.

The one thing to always remember is that a strike with to the throat area can potentially kill the other person. A strike to any area can potentially kill another person if they have the right pre existing medical conditions!

You can even take this target further and include what I call the "Ring Around The Collar". The sides of the neck are vulnerable due to the nerves that run through this area. The back of the neck is where the brain stem is and is the one common connection between your brain and the rest of your body. Impacts to the entire "Ring Around The Collar" can cause serious life threatening injuries. Take special care of your training partner and never go full speed or full force on any of these areas. Use a light touch and slow controlled movement in practice. Practicing in this manner will build muscle memory.

Self Defense Move #5 - The Lower Leg

The vulnerable spots here while not immediately life threatening can lead to injuring your attacker either directly or indirectly. When I say indirectly I mean if you manage to break your attackers ankle and they go crashing down onto the side walk and split their head open.

If someone has grabbed you from behind tying up your arms the areas of the lower leg to aim for can look something like the following. You can use the edge of your foot, assuming that you are wearing shoes, and scrape as hard as you can down the attackers shin. This is should get them to loosen their grip! Whether you are wearing shoes or not you can stomp your heel as hard as you can directly onto the top of the attackers foot as high up and close as you can to where the foot meets the ankle.

How about if someone has knocked you to the ground and is standing over you? What you can do in this situation is bring your knee up and in line with the ankle and then lift up and place the front of your shin directly on their lower shin just slightly above the ankle joint. Then you press down and slam all your body weight across and down into the pavement.

The ankle joint attack takes practice. It can be done standing and stomping across and down. It can be done from the inside of their legs by rolling all of your body weight outwards.

You are looking to strike just above the to knobs that you can feel on each side of your ankle joint. This tears the ankle joint and sends your assailant either limping away or crashing down into the pavement.

Be careful with your partner. Go easy and go lightly. On the ankle attack you want to go slow and give your partner time to roll ahead of your pressure and simulate falling to the ground. Be careful. When in doubt go slow! Even if you are confident, go slow and do not injure your training partner!

Those are the five easiest and most effective self defense moves that just about anyone should be able to perform to stop just about any assailant. Seriously injuring your attacker will free you up and buy time to get to safety.

When your own life and safety is on the line a pain/compliance, pressure point kind of defense will usually do you no good because the second you release your attacker and try to make an escape they will have an opportunity to attack you one more time.

These moves can be deadly so the utmost respect should be taken when practicing them with a partner.

The five self defense moves discussed should only be used in situations that warrant extreme self defense and all other options have been exhausted.

Stay safe and respect your training partners!

Women's Self-defense classes-misleading Self defense for women

Translate Request has too much data Parameter name: request Translate Request has too much data Parameter name: request

There are many who say women learn self-defense better in an exclusively women-only environment. The so-called "experts" say it is less intimidating if women don't have to compete with the men, or, it is easier (more comfortable) to discuss subjects like rape without men present. So, the new trend in self-defense programs is "Women's Self Defense" classes.

I don't agree with this line of reasoning, because the overwhelming evidence suggests that this is the wrong approach. I can't tell you how many times I have heard, "I took a women's self-defense course once. But, I went home and tried some of the stuff on my husband (or boyfriend), and it didn't work!"

There is nothing more confidence-shattering than to spend the time learning all the techniques and starting to feel good about yourself, only to have the bubble burst the first time you try out your new-found skills. Women then begin to feel there is nothing they can do to protect themselves when they can't even make it work against someone who isn't really trying to hurt them.

The real shame is when someone is really attacked, and after repeated attempts, can't make their self-defense techniques work. At that point, they simply give up, and won't fight back no matter what. I can only imagine that someone in that situation would look back on the time or money spent for self-defense classes and feel that they had been victimized twice!

Why "Women's Self Defense" Programs Don't Work!

Most of the people who take my self-defense classes are women. Sometimes, I even have a class that is all women. However, that is by coincidence, not design. Women who sign up for my classes know that there may be both men and women in the class. Whether there are actually men in the class is not important, after all, I am instructing the class, so there is always at least one man in the class.

The point is, if a woman is so intimidated by men, that she will not even take a self-defense class with men, she will never survive an attack by a man. Why? Because "intimidation" is just another word for fear. Until she can prove to herself the techniques work on a man, she has done nothing to help her get over her fear of men.

If she is ever attacked, it will probably be by a man! If she hasn't gotten over her fear of men, she will immediately panic, no matter what she has learned. If she hasn't learned how to deal with the bigger, stronger, more aggressive male, she will not understand how the dynamics of the situation will change in the real world!

Women MUST practice self-defense techniques against a man! Otherwise, how will she know they work against a man? This is what we call "realistic scenario training" (more about this later). If she has only practiced self-defense techniques with other women, she gets a false sense of security that her techniques will work in the real world. But, an even bigger problem is that most of what is taught in these so-called "women's self-defense" classes wouldn't work anyway!

Poor Teaching Methods

Much of what is taught as "women's self-defense" is not only ineffectual, but insulting as well. Courses intended only for women assume they are weak, less capable of defending themselves, and therefore need different methods from men to counteract violence. Women have been told to "yell 'FIRE', carry a hat pin or umbrella to jab at him, do something vulgar to gross him out, like tell him you have VD." If any of that junk worked, we'd be teaching men to do the same thing.

The following sample of bad advice still shows up in high schools and women's self-defense courses:

"Confrontation always makes everything worse. Don't react-it might be an overreaction. Don't add to the violence by becoming violent yourself. Don't make him mad. Trying to escape risks escalating the problem."

These ideas are wishful thinking or blind optimism. Experience at real crime scenes teaches you something very different.

Imagine if the percentages of women and men raped were 50-50 instead of 98 percent women and 2 percent men. [Outside of prison, those are the true percentages.] Now imagine someone telling men, "Don't overreact to rape, guys. Go along with his demands so you won't be hurt." I think you can see there might be a double standard that is completely unfair to women.

Doing Nothing

Doing nothing against a violent attack is the biggest risk of all because it makes resistance and escape later far more difficult. Worse, statistics show it actually increases the likelihood that violence will escalate, especially when the crime is rape. The most profound example involving resisting (doing something) versus submitting (doing nothing) was a Department of Justice study of rape published in 1985:

Rapists do not normally pre-arm themselves with weapons. Only 23 percent of 1.6 million cases studied involved knives or guns. [The major exception to this are rapists who break into a residence; 96 percent grab a knife from the kitchen.] Approximately 51 percent of women resisted in some form, ranging from screaming to fleeing, to fighting back; the remaining 49 percent did nothing. When broken down between resistance or submission, there was only an increase of two percent in the injury level to the women who resisted.

Yes, there is always a risk involved in fighting back, but there is just as much risk in doing nothing. If you face a rapist and do nothing, he'll rape you. If you face an armed criminal forcing you into his car and do nothing, he'll kidnap you. The "do-nothing" group believes that in doing nothing, they risk nothing.

Doers, in contrast, have simple and direct reasons for taking action: "If I don't do something fast, it's going to get worse."

False Claims

Another problem is the false sense of security given by unsubstantiated claims. One direct-mail women's safety device provides an "instant and easy self-defense" video for women.... "Can you point your finger?... Can you raise your hand?... If your answer is yes, you can instantly escape anything from rape to severe attacks.... It's quick and easy." The product being mentioned here, pepper spray, almost never works this way in the real world.

One television commercial for a women's self-defense program promises "two-minute, guaranteed knockout using your feet. When your assailant tries to grab you, use the heel of your shoe to strike into his head over and over." Could you really learn to do this in two minutes? It takes years of training in karate or taekwondo to learn to effectively kick someone in the head, and even then, it's a risky move. It's just a marketing ploy to get your money.

If you buy a police radar detector that is guaranteed to work, but doesn't, the result is a speeding ticket. If you pay for "self-defense classes" or videos that don't deliver as promised, the result can be severe injury or even death. Relying on someone else's guarantee is only a false sense of security that will only have bad results!

Anti-crime gadgets, and martial arts self-defense programs marketed to women, are often too simplistic and come with unrealistic guarantees. The fact is, surviving crime requires far more mental toughness than physical abilities. Size, weight, conditioning, and upper-body strength don't make the difference. If they did, a lot of men would be in deep trouble. Crime survival takes tough-minded mental conditioning, the same for both men and women.

What Does Work

What works, as proved by the results of both police and military testing, is "realistic scenario training". Scenario training consists of learning techniques, rehearsing them in realistic scenarios, and then visualizing these actions in your mind. It is a method used in many fields, from sports to law enforcement, military to medicine.

Scenario training is a way of planning our responses. We do something similar every day in our regular lives. We plan what to say if the boss criticizes a report we've submitted, or how to appease our spouse if we've done something irritating. Often we actually rehearse the words we'll use, we do it constantly. It doesn't always get us what we want, but it gives us a better chance.

Face-to-face with violence, your first split-second problem is not what is he going to do, but, "what are you going to do?" Scenario training against violence answers that question at the right time... before it happens. You can make mistakes and learn from them before it becomes a life or death situation! Scenario training to survive violent crime draws on real-life crime cases, which allows us to analyze our own mistakes, as well as the mistakes of others, learn from them, and decide how we will respond differently.

Without realistic scenario training, people panic and freeze up; they have no way to cut through the overwhelming fear that boxes them in during a crisis. Everyone needs to train for the same scenarios, and everyone, men and women alike, need to train the same way: to develop the mental toughness needed to survive a real attack!

Summary

This is the bottom line that must be adopted by every woman, every women's self-defense teacher, and every parent of a daughter: If the how-to-survive-violence technique and advice is not acceptable to men, it's not acceptable to women.

Knowing how to handle yourself when confronted with violence is your only insurance against becoming a victim, or just another statistic in a police report. You have car insurance, home-owner's insurance, life insurance, health insurance...

What insurance do you have against being the victim of a violent crime? A long-term self-defense program offers the most comprehensive training, and therefore, the best opportunity to learn to handle almost any situation that may occur. However, if you don't have the time to commit to a long-term program, at least some form of weaponless self-defense training is better than none.

But women MUST practice techniques with MEN! The idea that women can learn to defend themselves against men, without training with men, is simply false.

You know what type of self defense techniques and training to defend yourself?

One of the biggest mistakes you can make to learn how to protect themselves is just take someone's Word. Regardless of whether the person you are talking about wearing a black belt around his or her waist is 600 degree POO-Tic Tac Toe in, or is the creator of the latest, greatest, "kill-'em one finger" self-defence course you must take responsibility for insuring that you get the kind of self defense techniques that really save your, you know that when it's time!

This article sheds some light on one piece of knowledge that you need so you can be sure that you're not trying to learn self-defense from some guy who just has a few ideas, but never really "there" to prove that his stuff works!I cannot guarantee, that after you read this, you'll discover "wanna-be" from the real thing when it comes to defence experts but at least you'll know where to start learning to insure you view methods of self-defence, which would coincide with the types of attacks, you'll likely encounter!

And before you go in this lesson, you further, let's set the record straight that ...

Self-defence is not the same as "struggle"!

It's funny, but when I was a COP, and I'm pulling two guys off each other, whenever they would tell me that they just "protect yourself!", funny. You looked like you fought. This means that none of you looked like you were trying to get from others!

And that same mentality prevails in the world of self-defense. Every guru seems to be "self-defense" book, video or software. However, if you look closely at the lesson being taught that you see from fighting for beating someone not escape.

However, if we talk about self-defense, we must include the context in which we protect ourselves we should also look for things like why we were attacked by whom and with what attacks or weapons.

I mean that in order to understand and be able to search for the right of self-defence techniques for you, you need to ask the question, "what are the conditions or circumstances I might be attacked?"

Here are a few types of self-defence paradigms. each one comes with its own set of needs, strategies, tactics and goals and these things in themselves identify the "warm" methods of self-defence.

1) Self Defense for police officers and armed guards.

Self Defense for 2) bodyguards and Executive protection specialists.

** The above two types require almost completely the opposite when it comes to training, by the way!

3 Self Defense) for the average citizen.(This can also be subdivided and classified enable self defense for women, rape and defence for children)

Although there are common principles and concepts that are universal, regardless of who you are, the fact remains that if you really want to learn the types of methods of self-defence, which you should be able to protect themselves against your most likely attacker, who threw his likely attack ...

..inexpensive must first know who it is before you even begin!

Effective self-defense requires more than just a little "Karate moves."It implies the ability to think strategically and see how you can protect yourself with a little wear and tear on you as soon as possible.

3 Annoying myths in self defense

There are many myths and lies there. Unfortunately, I heard every martial artist is a victim of one or more of them. In this case, I am no different.

However, there are three large, that it was time to fool the people, therefore, in the hope of putting these myths, I show you today.

Annoying Myth # 1: have a unique Self defense style/courses

Forums ring with people arguing that self-defence was the ultimate self or this style is the ultimate self style these people often are cleverly coined the Warriors Forum.

These people often affiliate marketers a specific course or just wannabe martial artist, many of which have never been in a serious fight in their lives. No wonder so many people leave comments.

To tell the truth when you want to define a style of self-defense, many things come into play. What is the size you? how strong are you? What's your learning style? All these things come into play when determining the best way for you.

You should also look at how well schools do students.

Remember when you are looking for a good self defense schools, you don't need to find the best. It's come a long way of life. You just need to find a good school, will show you how to get the job done to protect ourselves. thats all.

Once you get to that, then, only if you want, you can start searching for schools that can help your applications, because you'll know what to look for.

So in a nutshell, instead of searching for the ultimate style, simply focus on finding a style that you think works well for you, and schools where teachers are a good Communicator, which answers your questions, and students are good fighters.

Annoying Myth # 2: can become fatal commandos in just a few days in the course of Defense take-home!

You may have seen their ads in magazines or on the Internet. Some top secret law enforcement or military guy tells you that they have a finite top secret self that will transform you into a super soldiers of the army in days. Even when you get them that you will not live advertising.

Again we are attacking the self-defence courses take home. There are some very goods ones out there, when used in conjunction with live martial arts training can really help you improve your overall method.

However, when an artist scam claims that their course can be impossible results with very little training, you have to wonder: our opinion is when you see these suggestions, dont get over-excited. they may have some very valid tips, but anything that will make you a man or a woman.

So again, martial arts, learning from school mixed with take home self-defence courses can be very good if you get the right one.But take home self-defense courses without proper training, from school is often incomplete and leave you unawares in real life death situation.

Annoying myth # 3: your second hand is your best self defense weapon

This myth is absolutely ridiculous and makes me angry, more than anything this myth claims that there is no better weapons self defense than your own two hands and feet. And for me, not sillier myth than that.

For those who are self dreamers ' Champagne and caviar dreams who thinks that this empty hand control is the only way to go, let me highlight ...

You are walking down the street where the attacker tells you to get in the car. you tell them, I don't think so and put up your Dukes. The attacker Then pulls out a gun.Who will win?

I can almost guarantee you won't get you.

Now, if you explicitly pass in the art of unarmed combat through military, law enforcement and martial arts you're chances are much better than this, however, these people know and understand the importance of using more than just your hands and feet.

Now I am not mistaken, any empty hand battle is an excellent idea.Conditions, it shows you how to effectively protect themselves. But an empty hand fighting can only be used as the absolute latest defense.

However, you can use the most effective weapon of self-defence is not your hands or feet or anything else for that matter the most effective weapon of self-defence is your brain in other words the same good old style.

Think about it for a second if you had the opportunity to choose how to stop criminal dead in its tracks, I'm sure you could think about 3 or 4, which may be more effective, then just use your bare hands.

For example you think using a taser gun to stop them dead in their tracks. or you can use pepper spray shoot at 6 metres you could hit them with a stun gun and run, or you can choose how the heck a stone or brick and throw it at them.

You see, we have in mind?

Too many people think that peace is a Kung Fu movie, which really isn't real thugs not only hurt you, they will kill you, and they don't care about your abilities or not empty hand so you have to do a legal stack chances of survival in your favor.

But what happens if someone takes away my arms self?

Well there is a possibility that this could happen, but then again, educating themselves self-defense products can greatly reduce the chances of you damage if it happens for instance did you know that the majority of stun guns should disable pin, once removed device inoperable? which means that they could never use your stun gun against you.

You may think that having the advantages of shockers on you far, far outweigh the disadvantages of not having anything to protect themselves.

I think the ultimate brain shockers. She's so doorway from difficult situations, if you find yourself in a situation where someone takes you self Defense weapons away, do not come with them. throw it in their face. use it for your leverage and always, always run as if your life depends on it, because in fact it does.

3 Major Self Defense Training Myths

There are many myths and misconceptions out there when it comes to self. Even trained military artists fell by one or more of these myths, with the preparation of their defence. Here are three great self-defense myths that seem to fool the people again and again:

1. There is a style of the ultimate self.

Many people spend their time looking for the ultimate self defense course that will teach them everything they need to know to protect yourself against any threat. Others feel that their martial arts style just can't be beat any other steps, and never take the time to explore other options.

In truth, there are many variables in the game when it comes to your ideal self-defense style, and it will be different for everyone. You are a young woman or Pro linebacker if there were any style of self-defence, that will work for you. What is your size? How strong are you?How much do you know your physical ability to fight malicious? what's your learning style? all affect your choice of self-defence in fact you can appeal against physical, military art based on self Defense techniques, instead choosing to protect yourself with a stun gun, canister pepper spray self defense or any of dozens of products on the market today.

Instead of searching for the ultimate self style, focus on what works for you, whether you're looking for a good martial arts training courses or an ideal product to meet with you to protect you from attacks.

2. you may become invincible fighter in a matter of days.

While there are certainly lots of DVDS and curricula that can dramatically increase your attack power very quickly, not self-defense method will make you invincible. they offer many valuable tips to increase your skills and confidence, but nothing will make you one man army, and not for several hours.

3. your own two hands are your best weapons.

Although of course you can do more damage with your hand, especially in unarmed combat, the truth is that in a real self-defense situation, you're against armed assailant, more often than not.Empty hands fighting is not very effective strategies for the vast majority of people looking for options to self-defence. it can be used only as an absolute last defense almost anything you can use to fight back with, even the car keys in your wallet or rock in the field, to be more effective than fighting back empty-handed.

Too many people think that the real self, fighting looks the same as the movie Kung Fu in reality fight back empty-handed, much harder than they make it look like you have to do is put the chances of survival in your favor. Be batons, stun gun or canister pepper spray to give yourself a chance.

Keep your system simply! Self-defence and Science performance stress

"There Are No Superior Martial Arts,
Only Superior Martial Artists"

I've read, heard, repeated and written that phrase so often I can't even remember where it came from. The reason I like it so much is because it's true!

This article is not another effort to debate the merits of one self-defense system over another. Nor is it to argue about which style will or won't work "on the street." All martial arts have components within them that are powerful fighting techniques. It's important to know which ones they are!

Self-Defense Systems Differ,
But Self-Defense Principles Don't

On the surface, martial arts and self-defense systems seem different. However, if they are legitimate and effective, the principles underlying them are the same.

Principles are the rules about the way things are. They are inarguable, non-negotiable and unchanging. They have nothing to do with the way we think things are or the way we want them to be. Like the laws of physics, they just are.

As "Martial Scientists," our goal is to explore, discover, test and confirm the operative principles that define and influence the reality of combat. Your ability to produce a desired result, in this case to effectively defend yourself, is a direct result of how well you understand and apply the principles of combat and human performance.

What Do You Know About
Performance Under Pressure?

This article is about how fear and stress affect fighting performance. Whether you consider yourself a seasoned martial artist, a self-defense enthusiast, or a self-taught "ham & egger" who just wants to stay in shape and boost your confidence, this information is important to know. If you are training for self-defense, you need to select and develop skills that will be effective in the chaos of a violent conflict. This article will help you in that process.

FEAR, STRESS AND SELF-DEFENSE

Stress Is Good, But Only If It
Works For And Not Against You

Stress is our response to a real or perceived threat that we inherited from our ancestors. It was, and is, essential for our survival as a species. That survival mechanism, often called the "Fight or Flight Response," is a good thing. If properly managed, it can be a powerful force in fighting off (fight) or escaping from (flight) a violent assailant. However, if ignored or misunderstood, stress can impair our mental and physical performance and compromise our effectiveness in a fight.

What Is "Self-Defense Stress?"

Stress, as it relates to violence, is the response to a perceived discrepancy between a threat and your ability to control it under conditions where the outcome has the potential for death, injury or physical degradation.

The Symptoms Of Stress

Stress causes a variety of psychological and physiological changes. Without getting into the specifics of those changes, the affects of intense stress on performance fall into three categories:

1. Perceptual Distortion - loss of peripheral vision and depth perception, hearing may be impaired, changes in pain sensitivity, etc.

2. Cognitive Impairment - the emotional centers in the brain become predominant and creative or logical thinking is impaired.

3. Motor Skill Deterioration - the ability to perform certain physical actions is impaired by stress. However, other actions can actually be enhanced by stress.

Each of these categories could form an article (or book) of their own. However, for the purposes of this article, I'll confine myself to information pertaining to the selection and performance of physical skills.

THE KYSS! PRINCIPLE (Keep Your System Simple!)

Why Do Black Belts Get Beat Up?

Why is it that so many martial artists get beat up? I'm sorry to burst your bubble if you thought otherwise but the fact is that many people, even after years of training, have been thumped by "unskilled," intoxicated adversaries. How can that be?

Often people train with a distorted mental map of what it's like to be in a real, knockdown, drag-out, anything-goes street-fight. They confuse sparring with fighting and find themselves hesitant, overwhelmed by fear or attempting techniques that just don't work.

The more clearly you understand the realities of a "fight" and the affects of being in one, the better you can prepare yourself for the chaos of personal combat.

Motor Skills Classification

Motor Skills is a fancy name for physical actions or techniques. They can be divided into three categories:

1. Fine Motor Skills - are actions involving small muscles, dexterity and eye-hand coordination. The ability to perform fine motor skills deteriorates at low to moderate levels of stress.

2. Complex Motor Skills - are actions that link three or more components in a sequence that requires timing and coordination. At moderate to high levels of stress, the ability to perform these skills is also impaired. Many martial arts techniques are complex motor skills. This explains why techniques that may work fine in low-stress training fail in a high-stress street-fight.

3. Gross motor skills - are simple, large-muscle group actions like a squats, pushups and push/pull-type movements. This includes basic fighting skills like a straight punch, a hook punch or a Thai boxer's knee strike for example. Unlike fine and complex motor skills, gross motor skills DO NOT deteriorate under stress. In fact, they are enhanced by the affects of fear and stress.

Obviously we want to rely predominantly on gross motor skills when designing a self-defense response system.

The "Less-Is-Best" Theory

Some self-defense and martial arts instructors believe in the "More-Is-Better" philosophy. They think that learning a high number of techniques will increase the ability to respond effectively to a wider variety of situations; that the more elaborate the fighting system the more adaptable it becomes.

If you hold this philosophy yourself, please forgive my bluntness but...YOU'RE WRONG!!! The More-Is-Better approach does not withstand scientific scrutiny. Complex or elaborate techniques don't work in a real fight. It's as simple as that.

In contrast, the "Less-Is-Best" approach is more practical, realistic and consistent with what science tells us about the way we perform under stress. Here are a few of the benefits of keeping the number of techniques to a minimum.

Faster Reaction Time

As far back as the 1800's, researchers knew that the more responses you have to a stimulus, the longer it takes react. In 1952, a researcher named Hicks confirmed that for every response choice added, the amount of time required to react doubles! This is widely known as "Hicks Law," and has been repeatedly confirmed by subsequent research. In a self-defense situation, the longer you take to respond to a threatening action, the more likely you will be injured and defeated.

Fast Results With Minimal Training

Another issue that supports the idea of keeping your inventory of techniques to a minimum is the amount of time you have to practice and the time it takes to build technique competence. (remember: competence builds confidence which reduces stress!)

Imagine you work on 20 techniques and you train for an hour per session. That means you have 3 minutes to invest on each technique. If however, you reduce the number of self-defense techniques to three (just an arbitrary number), you invest 20 minutes on each technique, conceivably investing 600% more time and repetition on each one. What technique wouldn't be improved by six times more training?

The Brass Knuckle Effect (Cognitive Clarity)

Imagine you knew you were about to be attacked by a large, strong, psychopathic assailant. There is no way of avoiding the fight. Let's say your self-defense system consists of 20 different techniques. In the stressful moments preceding the encounter your mind is reeling; trying to figure out the most appropriate course of action.

Keep in mind that your cognitive abilities are impaired by stress. Stress-related "brain damage" prevents you from forming a logical or creative solution to your predicament. What will you do?

Seeing your dilemma, a good friend (if he wasn't before he is now!) discretely passes you a set of brass knuckles. What do you suppose has just happened to your thought process?

I'll hazard a guess that the mental fog begins to lift, your stress decreases and your objective becomes clear. It's now a simple matter of taking those brass knuckles and slamming them repeatedly into vulnerable parts of your opponent's anatomy. Seems simple now doesn't it?

The potential of you winning the encounter has been significantly enhanced. That same affect can be achieved without the brass knuckles by sticking to a limited, yet adaptable, inventory of dependable fighting skills.

THE SCIENCE OF STRESS POINTS TO THE NEED TO SPECIALIZE

Virtually all accomplished fighters are known for specific techniques that they excel at. However, if you ignore their "bread & butter" techniques, most of them would be considered "average." Those fighters excel because of their ability to simplify their system and build on their superior techniques.

Knowing what you now know about technique selection and stress performance, what do you think about the merits of "specializing" in a core set of fighting skills? Here's how to get started.

Explore Your Strengths

Don't just latch onto a fighting tactic arbitrarily. Evaluate your existing skills and select a strike, a kick, or a finishing hold that seems like a "good fit" for you. What technique to you consistently land or apply when sparring? What is your best or favorite technique? What technique do you feel you would resort to under pressure? Answering these questions will get you started with the specialization process.

Adaptability

Having as few techniques as possible doesn't mean that you limit your ability to respond to a wide variety of situations. The idea is to take that specialty strike, kick, joint lock or choke and train it in as many different ways as possible. Learn to apply those basic skills at different ranges (striking, clinching or on the ground), against different partners, against different apparatus and in as many drills as you can think of. Learn how to set them up and follow them up. Strive to learn a lot about a little, not vice versa.

Train to Momentary Exhaustion

A good way to see how well a technique holds up under stress is to train it to extreme fatigue. You can bring on the physiology of intense stress by exerting yourself. I call this "blitz training" in the heavy bag article: "There's nothing like a swift kick to the bag." on my site at:

http://www.protectivestrategies.com/heavybag.html

Blast out a technique or combination repeatedly for a specified duration or until you can't do it any more. I can guarantee that gross motor skills will be the only ones conducive to this type of training.

Keep in mind that you wouldn't do this training all of the time. You need time to recover between intense workouts like this.

Obviously you must be healthy and in good physical shape to do in this training. Refer to my disclaimer page for precautions before following this advice.

http://www.protectivestrategies.com/disclaimer.html

Simplicity Is Not Inflexibility

A final note in keeping things simple is that the process of specialization doesn't mean that you stop learning, experimenting or that you abandon your existing training program in lieu of a "bare-bones" self-defense program.

If you are proud of your traditional martial arts system stick with it. If you love to jump up, spin around and kick things, then by all means, go for it! Just don't confuse techniques that will work in a street fight with those that won't. Apply the science of stress performance by adding specialty training to the degree that you want to develop practical self-defense skills.

SO WHAT? HOW TO USE THIS INFORMATION

Using The "KYSS! Principle"
To Evaluate A Potential Specialty Technique

Now its time to put this stuff into practice: Based on the priority you place on "fighting skill." (there are several other benefits and reasons to train) Take a good, hard look at the skills you have in your inventory and the amount of time you plan to invest in training.

Decide on what proportion of your training you want to dedicate to self-defense. Design your system based on the following "KYSS Criteria."

=> is the technique a "gross motor skill?"

=> do you have confidence in your ability to perform the skill under pressure?

=> What technique is most successful for you in training sparring or competition? (however don't confuse those activities with fighting)

=> Is the technique applicable in a wide variety of situations, at different ranges, in different environments, ring clothing that you were during your day-to-day activities?

=> Are you able to construct a wide variety of training drills to build adaptability and flexibility in your chosen techniques?

=> Are there techniques that you've selected that are redundant?

=> Do you understand the underlying principles and biomechanics of performing and applying the skill with optimal efficiency?

CONCLUSION

Stress in a combative situation is a given. Expect it. It's going to be there. Your performance is the result of how confident and well prepared you are in addition to how well designed your self-defense response system is. Attack the problem of stress performance this way:

=> Simplify your system through specializing in a handful of effective and adaptable techniques.

=> Artificially create stress in your training sessions to inoculate yourself to it to some degree (more on this in future articles) and...

=> Select gross motor skills that will be efficient under stress.

Knowing what you now know about stress performance isn't it obvious that the "KYSS! (Keep Your System Simple!) Principle" is worth incorporating into your training? Scrutinize and evaluate your inventory of fighting skills and select those that meet the KYSS criteria and you will improve your performance in a combative situation dramatically. The bottom line of what I want you to take away from this article is that if you are training for self-defense Keep Your System Simple!

============== Self-Defense Quote =================

"There are no superior or inferior martial arts, there are only warriors and non-warriors"

"Each martial art is based on doctrine, a set of broad and general beliefs. People who study a single doctrine tend to shut out ideas from other sources and convince themselves that their's is the one true way of fighting. They become slaves to the very doctrines they profess."

Self defense weapons-what is the best weapon for self defense?

If you are thinking of purchasing a gun, or other "self-protection" device such as pepper spray or an alarm, then you are obviously concerned about your personal safety. You know it is essential to learn how to defend yourself, now more than ever! Today, not only do you have to worry about criminals, but now terrorists as well! What is this world coming to? Would you know what to do?

You may be thinking, "Well, I'll just get a gun!" Unfortunately, real-world tests have shown that overall , weapons (or other "self-defense" products) are often ineffective when it comes to self-defense. Why?

There are many factors that contribute, but the main reason weapons are ineffective is, if the weapon is not in your hand at the moment of attack, you will never get the chance to use it! But, the law does not allow you to walk around with a gun in your hand, and most studies show that people soon forget to carry the various types of self-protection devices they purchase.

Even if you have a stun gun or pepper spray in your purse or pocket, if caught by surprise, you won't have a chance to get it out before you get decked! Mace does you no good if it is still in the purse that just got snatched out of your hand! Tests prove that 90% of the time, you will never get the chance to reach for your weapon before you are hurt too severely to use it.

FBI statistics and Police reports from all over the country show that in more than half of all instances where the victim was able to get to a "weapon" (usually sprays are mentioned), the attacker knocked it out of their hand before they could use it. Police files are filled with tens of thousands of incidents of weapons taken away from the victim and used against them! It is estimated that almost one third of all gunshot victims are shot with their own gun! The figures are even higher when it comes to stun-guns and sprays.

This doesn't even include all of the incidences where the victim shoots themselves! Accidental discharge is the leading cause of gunshot wounds in both crime and non-crime reports. You may think that wouldn't happen to you, but the reports prove that it happens to even experienced gun owners.

I know of a Police officer, even after extensive training , the first time he tried to use Mace against an unruly suspect, ended up spraying himself.

Unfortunately, most people have little or no training as to the safe and proper use of the weapons in their possession. Inadequate, or even improper training is the leading cause of accidental discharge involving guns, stun-guns and sprays. What do you think will happen when they attempt to use that weapon under the stress of a real attack?

There are literally millions of incidents reported where the victim couldn't get the weapon to work at all, mainly because of inadequate training! Even the most basic principles of weapon usage are often overlooked by owners. The figures are stunning (pun intended) of the number of incidents of stun guns that didn't work when needed because of dead batteries!

There are thousands upon thousands of reports of guns that wouldn't fire because the safety was on, and the user didn't know, forgot, or was too panicked to figure it out in time. In at least one incident I am aware of, the victim couldn't get his weapon to fire before the criminal took it away from him. Lucky for him, the criminal couldn't figure it out either.

Defective or Fraudulent Products

I'm sure you have purchased products that didn't quite work as advertised. How can you be sure that the pepper spray you buy will work as well as advertised, if at all? How will you test it? Spray yourself? Spray a friend? We're not talking about perfume! I doubt you will get any volunteers to help you.

When the criminal attacks, it is too late to find out that the pepper spray is really just vinegar, or that the 10 million volt stun-gun doesn't deliver much more of a shock than shuffling across the carpet and touching a doorknob.

If you buy a police radar detector that is guaranteed to work, but doesn't, the result is a speeding ticket. If you buy "self-protection weapons" that don't work, the result can be severe injury or even death. Relying on someone else's guarantee is only a false sense of security that will only have bad results!

If you are serious about Self-Protection, your best self defense weapon is your mind . If you think about what has just been discussed, you will realize that 'weapons' will only help you in ideal situations, and even then, you need to keep a clear head to be able to use them properly.

But, crime doesn't happen in ideal situations!

Being able to think clearly, and knowing what to do, is your best weapon when it comes to self-defense. Second best is being able to use your feet. Now, that doesn't mean to start kicking! It means that at the first sign of trouble, you need to RUN! Escape is always a much better self-defense tactic than getting into a struggle or a fight.

However, if you can't get away, your body is your best self-defense weapon! Since you cannot always have a weapon in your hand, it is essential that you know how to defend yourself without weapons. But mindless flailing against an attacker does you no good at all. You need to learn the most vulnerable points on the human body. But even that isn't enough if you don't know the most effective ways to strike them. You need to learn how to kick, not just where to kick.

Everyone should at least take a basic self-defense course .

What about Martial Arts?

Traditional Martial Arts are great for disciple, self-confidence, and exercise. They can help to produce the correct mindset needed when faced with a self-defense situation. But it usually takes several years to become proficient in the more complex techniques.

If you have the time to commit to a long-term training program, by all means, a martial art will provide the most comprehensive training. However, just as in choosing a self-defense weapon, you must do your homework before choosing a martial arts program. Many don't deliver the comprehensive training they promise, and most don't train you for realistic self-defense.

Far too many martial arts programs focus greatly on sports and competition. Sports and competition oriented martial arts are worthless as self-defense. They teach you to follow rules, and for the most part, there are no rules in a street fight. If you are conditioned to follow the rules, you can't do what is necessary in a dangerous situation. In fact, you will probably do the wrong thing, and get yourself hurt or even killed.

Seek out a training program that focuses almost exclusively on realistic self-defense scenario training.

Knowing how to handle yourself when confronted with violence is your only insurance against becoming a victim, or just another statistic in a police report. You have car insurance, home-owner's insurance, life insurance, health insurance...

What insurance do you have against being the victim of a violent crime? That type of insurance is only available through proper training. A long-term self-defense program offers the most comprehensive training, and therefore, the best opportunity to learn to handle almost any situation that may occur. However, if you don't have the time to commit to a long-term program, at least some form of weaponless self-defense training is better than none.

Summary

If you are serious about self-protection, your best bet is to first learn weaponless self-defense. Then, if you still want to purchase a weapon, do your homework before choosing the best weapon for you, and don't just read the instructions that come with it and think you are ready to use it.

Take a class on how to use it effectively, how to handle it safely, and how to maintain it so it works when you need it. Take regular refresher courses so you don't forget anything about the weapon. Follow all maintenance procedures on a regular basis.

Your best bet is to learn weaponless self-defense and get the best weapon for you. Remember, you will never feel safe until you have all the tools necessary for self-protection. And the most important weapon of all is your own mind and body!

Self-defense for women-why most programs are not

Women's self defense items constantly in news and hot topic for conversation. It seems that every police officer Karate Instructor has its own philosophy and theories about how and why of self-defense for women and girls.

Although it is true that many of the same methods and tactics to teach men to defend itself just won't work for women, why? ...

...Because attacks on women, on their basis, certain specific problems, issues and conditions, which are often very different men who find themselves in situations of women forced into defensive. things that, frankly, not men.

If that's what you're really concerned about, you owe it to yourself to do some serious research to get more information about the real world self defense for

women built around issues relating specifically to women's self-defense.

Now before you start rolling of the eyes or nodding their heads, it's not a matter of lib for women or anything like it just the way it is.

What are the things distinguish self defense for women?I'm glad you asked.

Well for starters, physiologically speaking, is the ratio of the strength of k-7-3 between male and female. This means that if you had to be men and women, having the same height, weight, build, side-by-side, and all things considered (health, fitness, etc.) ...

...people will still be two and a half times stronger than a woman!

This is not theory or one man convinced others this scientific fact.

Further, women are more likely to hit, grabbed and pinned than fists and feet. For men this is just the opposite: the fact is that most of us were due from childhood, play, and, Yes, to fight sex very differently and attackers are no different.

The good news is that more and more women are lives by increasing the benefits of martial arts and self-defense programs to increase their level of self-confidence and a sense of security. That is, and not-so-good news ...

...There is a shortage:

* Martial arts instructors understand scientific defense, and life experience to teach from the perspective that shares this experience.

After all...

...If your instructor has never been in the real world of self-defence situation by itself, it will make it virtually impossible for them to teach real self-defense to anyone-not to mention self defense for women. It's kind of like going to the priest Advisor for marriage counseling, who have never been married. They both have information passed to another, but in any case did not express this information based on real word knowledge.

However, there is a predominance of ...

...the so-called self-defense experts who are tough guy, fighter type or "reality-deal with it! macho type.

These people are, by their very nature are "slugger" types that rely on speed, strength and size of the win.Since self-defence situations usually include a bigger, faster, stronger by an attacker, victimization smaller, less developed trust – and that '' s sexactly that most women are against you attacked ...

...These instructors and their "first-strike-and-crush-them-where-are-stand mentality, knowledgeable, far from being perfect or are able to deliver the necessary lessons necessary for women to protect themselves from the assailant, intent to dominant them physically.

Other considerations for girls

The following is a partial list of some of the other major difference between self defense for women and men.The main thing to remember is that ...

... self-defense situation is very different from sports or a contest on a competitive basis where the willingness of participants to insure They are evenly matched. "just cause".I was in competitions and I have been attacked, and I can tell you without any moment doubt that ...

...There is nothing "fair" or "even" a real attack. NOTHING!And once your personal space is invaded by the other person wants to beat you to your core, you'll know what I mean and never, ever buy crap that most of these so called experts shovelling.

With that said please know that I did not say that every self defence or martial arts instructor is full of it.Just what you need to know what you need and make sure you are getting.Remember, you don't buy a sofa, you can take back the error in this area is literally could cost you your life!

Here are some other differences between men and women in training, good program must address:

* Cultural impact-girls are taught from a very young age that the fighting lady not as. "

Oh my God! whatever people think!

* Situational Self-rape and sexual abuse are two of the main differences between men and women when it comes to suriviving attacks.

The fact that men usually are more obvious situations (Street and competitive (Yes Yes! go! "-The type of fighting), while women and more and more young girls to handle subtle tactics as date rape or ambushed by groups.

Add to that the number of differential discussed earlier, and you have a very different situations that require very different self-defense tactics.

* Incorrect data-I believe that the majority of teachers and trainers is good and they are not out to con you. it's just that they don't have real experience to go on, so they are doing that everyone makes when they don't know better ...

...they make assumptions that seem logical and rational, within their terms of reference.

The problem is that we are talking here of self-protection.

...self defense for women ...

...girls self-defense. ...

...vegetable soup. where if you make a mistake, you can just dump the pot and start over.

As I said earlier, the error situation self-defense for women in any situation demanding protection against an attack from attackers intentionally hurt you, can be very costly indeed.
